Ingredients
Scale
15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese, drained if very wet
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon hot sauce (or more, to taste)
1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
Crostini, crackers, or fresh vegetables for serving
Instructions
Toast the walnuts: Place the chopped walnuts in a small, dry skillet over medium heat. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often, until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the hot honey: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and hot sauce until combined. Set aside.
Whip the ricotta: Place the drained ricotta cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper into a food processor. Process for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is completely smooth, light, and airy.
Assemble the dip: Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl.
Top the dip: Drizzle the hot honey mixture evenly over the ricotta. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the top.
Serve immediately with your choice of bread or vegetables for dipping.
Notes
If you do not have a food processor, you can use a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, but whip for a longer time, about 3 to 4 minutes, until very smooth.
For a richer flavor, use high-quality, full-fat ricotta cheese.
You can substitute pistachios or pecans for the walnuts if you prefer a different crunch.
