Make these adorable, bite-sized Grinch Oreo Balls for a festive, no-bake holiday dessert. They feature a chocolate cookie center, bright green coating, and a small red heart accent.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz green candy coating wafers
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional, for thinning coating)
  • Small red heart sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you do not have a food processor, place them in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. Transfer the cookie crumbs to a medium bowl. Add the softened cream cheese. Mix with a sturdy spoon or your hands until the mixture is completely combined and forms a thick dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get approximately 30 to 36 balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step helps them firm up before dipping.
  5. Melt the green candy coating wafers according to package directions. If the coating is too thick, stir in the vegetable oil one drop at a time until it reaches a smooth, dippable consistency.
  6. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Tap the fork gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
  7. Place the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately place one small red heart sprinkle on top of each ball to represent the Grinch’s heart.
  8. Allow the candy coating to set completely at room temperature, or place the tray back in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to speed up the process.
  9. Store your Grinch Oreo Balls in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use regular Oreos for the classic chocolate flavor, or try Red Velvet Oreos for a slightly different taste profile, as some popular recipes suggest.
  • If you do not have candy coating wafers, you can use green candy melts or white chocolate chips dyed green with oil-based food coloring.
  • For easy cleanup, use toothpicks inserted into the balls for dipping instead of forks.
