Make this creamy, cheesy garlic parmesan chicken bake for a simple, flavorful weeknight dinner. It uses basic ingredients and bakes up perfectly in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Pour the garlic parmesan sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the sauce.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts; adjust the baking time as needed.
  • This recipe makes great leftovers for lunch the next day.
