Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 pound fettuccine or penne pasta
4 cups beef broth
1 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat and set the beef aside.
In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
Add the dry pasta, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking, until the pasta is nearly tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Stir in the cooked ground beef and heavy cream. Continue to simmer gently, uncovered, for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the pasta.
Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a higher protein meal, use lean ground beef.
If the sauce is too thick, add a splash more beef broth or milk until you reach your desired consistency.
You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or ground Italian sausage.
