Make the classic, addictive Chex Party Mix at home. This recipe uses simple ingredients and baking to create the perfect savory snack for game days, holidays, or movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups Chex cereal (a mix of Rice Chex and Corn Chex works best)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists
  • 1 cup bagel chips
  • 1 cup rye chips
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (like pecans or almonds)
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a very large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, bagel chips, rye chips, and nuts. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture. Gently stir until all the cereal and chips are lightly coated.
  5. Spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheets in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir gently, and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the snack mix cool completely on the baking sheets before serving or storing. The mix will crisp up as it cools.

Notes

  • For a bolder flavor, increase the Worcestershire sauce to 3 tablespoons.
  • You can substitute any of the cereals or chips based on what you have available, making this a flexible party snack food.
  • Store cooled Chex Party Mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
