Ingredients
Scale
4 (about 1 inch thick) boneless or bone-in pork loin chops
1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Pat the pork chops completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a crispy exterior.
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, thyme, and black pepper to create your seasoning blend.
Lightly brush both sides of each pork chop with the oil.
Sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over all surfaces of the pork chops, pressing gently so the seasoning adheres.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Place the seasoned pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry for 10 to 14 minutes, flipping the chops halfway through the cooking time. The exact time depends on the thickness of your chops.
Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Pork is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part.
Remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping them tender.
Notes
For bone-in chops, you may need 1 to 2 minutes more cooking time.
If you prefer a slight sweetness, add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar to the seasoning mix for a caramelized crust.
This recipe works well for pork loin chops or thick-cut boneless chops.
